This two-day course is specifically designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of transformer and reactor protection. Participants will learn about the theoretical foundations, setting methodologies, and practical experiments related to relay performance under the influence of system transients. The course will equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to design, configure, and optimize protection schemes for transformers and reactors in power systems.
This course is designed for electrical engineers involved in planning, consultation, and design of high voltage substations, and general managers of power grid companies. In addition, it is recommended for young engineers who want to work as a protection and control engineer.
1st Day:
Transformer and Reactor Protection Fundamentals
2nd Day:
Setting Methodology and Influence of System Transients
Throughout the course, participants will engage in practical experiments, case studies, and discussions to reinforce their understanding of transformer and reactor protection concepts. They will also gain insights into the impact of system transients on relay performance and learn effective techniques to mitigate such influences. By the end of the course, participants will have the necessary knowledge and skills to apply appropriate protection strategies, perform accurate setting calculations, and optimize relay performance for transformers and reactors.
